Adam-12: After a lecture by Sgt. MacDonald on officer presence, Malloy and Reed are called to a 211 in progress, finding one of the attendants locked in a rest room after being pistol whipped. They then are summoned to a retirement facility where they encounter a 91 year old man who has wondered off from his daughter's care and decided to walk home...to South Dakota. The team is then dispatched to a prowler call that turns out to be a wiley woodland creature looking for food. As Reed calls in for a code 7, they are dispatched to a silent alarm where they encounter four armed burglars who engage them in a gunfight, wounding Officer Walters.
